'Thatching Reed'

Brown flowers borne in long slender compact spikes
Forms clumps 1.5m wide 1.2 to 2m erect, arching rhizotomatous tussock with tough wiry grey-green stems. Very attractive ornamental . These are sun-loving plants requiring nothing more than some moisture and good drainage in a frost-free climate. Cut back any old stems that are dying off. Avoid root disturbance and be very sparing with fertilizers - especially those high in phosphorus.
